WHAT IS THE NEARER TO GOD DEVOTIONAL?
This daily devotional comes out every two months and each day in the devotional includes a Scripture passage reading, Scripture text, a meditation written by a reformed minister, and concludes with a suggestion for prayer. This daily devotional is designed to direct you in the truths of God's Word, to faith in Christ alone for salvation, and to help you better understand the covenant relationship Christians have with their Covenant God.
This devotional takes a Reformed view of the Bible. Its purpose is to reach out to those who are seeking God. It is also designed to edify the church and to lift up the Lord Jesus Christ so that all will be drawn to Him for faith and salvation. May this devotional be a means to enable you to draw nearer to God!
Nearer to God Devotional was created in September 2014. When it began, there was a need for an up-to-date devotional that could be used for outreach in the Southwestern Ontario region as well as meeting the need for a solidly reformed devotional for families to use. The response to the Devotional has been very positive and it has grown from 120 total copies for the first issue to over 4000 copies that are now shipped all over North America and used in New Zealand.
The committee in charge of maintaining the devotional comes from the Reformed community and its members volunteer their time and resources for this project. The meditations in the devotional are graciously written by trained and experienced men who are active or retired ministers from Reformed Churches.
This devotional is supported by churches and individuals in the following Federations/Denominations:
- The United Reformed Churches
- The Canadian Reformed Churches
- The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches
- The Orthodox Presbyterian Churches
